It’s true, the Padres always lets us win. We’re thankful for that.

We take back what we said last week. Interleague games are NOT so fun.
There’s a lot of giggling though. At least you can enjoy that.

We discuss the ups and downs of the Mariners interleague series!

We can hardly believe this is our 10th podcast. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for listening in! Enjoy!

Yes, despite The Ball Girls not being a fan of Olivo’s defensive skills (listen to our stats, he really does suck as a catcher), his offense makes him Olivo-tastic!
Listen and enjoy!

The Ball Girls are back with a rousing discussion about the Mariners’ new life, Chone Figgins’ future, Girls Night Out, and more!

We don’t know about you, but the Ball Girls sole reason of looking forward to the interleague series against the San Diego Padres this past weekend (well, other than the fact that the NL teams are easier to beat) was that our former ‘Cantcher’, Rob Johnson and our current ‘Cantcher’, Miguel Olivo, were playing against each other.
Hence, the Battle of the Cantchers.
Now that the series is over (and the Mariners swept the Padres, thankyouverymuch), we would like to analyze and determine the winner (…err, loser) of this said battle.
Seeing as neither made any crucial errors or costly moves (surprisingly), we’ll have to conclude this first series winner by their offense.
Friday’s Game:
Miguel Olivo: 2H, 2R, 1 RBI, 1HR, 2K
Rob Johnson: 0H, 0R, 0RBI, 0HR, 1K
Saturday’s Game:
Miguel Olivo: 0H, 0R, 0RBI, 0HR, 1K
Rob Johnson: N/A
Sunday’s Game:
Miguel Olivo: 3H, 3R, 0RBI, 0HR, 0K
Rob Johnson: 0H, 0R, 0RBI, 0HR, 2K
So there it is. We don’t really care that Rob Johnson didn’t play on Saturday. Even if he did, he most likely still wouldn’t have done better than Miguel Olivo did.
Looks like we have a winner!
The winner of the first Battle of the Cantchers is…..
Drum rolls, please…
ROB JOHNSON!!!!!!
Rob Johnson, you are still, and seems like forever will be, the true cantcher. Congratulations.

The Wall Street Journal talking baseball seems a little odd but they nailed this article. In fact, it’s so well-written and convincing (unfortunately, for Mariners fans) that we had to repost it here for those of you that don’t explore the WSJ. Statistics don’t lie. Enjoy and be enlightened.

The Ball Girls are out of the office this week and are unable to get together for a podcast recording but wanted to share our hot topics with all of you! I know, I know, you’d rather hear our giggling (who doesn’t?) but trust us, we’ll be back with a real podcast next week.
Here we go….
I. Past Week
1. Indians
– 2 rained out games! All we can say is that the Indians need a frickin’ roof!
2. Twins
– Won 1, Lost 1. Pineda was stunning and so was Felix but we just couldn’t produce any runs for him. Poor King!
3. Angels
– We swept the Angels! Viva Vargas and Fister Fever all around! Yeah, baby! Oh, and a big thank you to Torii Hunter.
II. Hot Topics
1. Franklin Gutierrez fly swatter day!
– The Ball Girls really wanted the fly swatter. Why did they have to do it on a weekday? Sob!
2. Interleague game v. Padres.
– Hey it’s the Battle of the Cantchers starting today! We’re excited to see which team has a worse ‘cantcher’.
3. What’s going on with Felix?
– Don’t get us wrong, he’s still great, we just feel as if he has been looking defeated lately.
4. Welcome back Guti!
– Maybe the happiest news this month for us! We’re so excited to have him back!
5. The Ball Girls expectations of the Mariners are spiraling.
– The other day at Buffalo Wild Wings, both The Ball Girls glanced at Jack Wilson’s batting average (.224) and actually thought it wasn’t all that bad. Apparently our expectations have lowered right above the Mendoza Line. Sad times.
III. Series Ahead
1. San Diego Padres
– Honestly, we’re just looking forward to watching Cantcher Sr. (R.Johnson) and Cantcher Jr. (Olivo).
2. Minnesota Twins
- The only team in the AL that has a worse record than we do. Kick them while they’re down!
IV. Shoutouts
1. Red Wings
– After a rough playoff exit for Mariner Mandy and her Blazers, Diamond Deena faced her playoff exit with her Red Wings. Good season, Red Wings! Let’s just cut Ericsson next season, mmkay?
2. Buffalo Wild Wings
– We’re a little upset with Bdubs. We’re not sure how many times we’re supposed to go before they remember who we are and save us seats. If anything, at least turn one big screen to the Mariners! Nobody wants to watch the Dodgers play in Portland! Gah!
